Run the floor. Stop chasing rent.

Draw your room, put each stylist on their chair and set what they pay. Same Roof sends the invoices in your salon’s name and collects the rent by Direct Debit, so it arrives without a reminder.

Example salon and figures
  1. Draw your room

Start from the Salon, Barber or Blank template, then draw the real room: walls, doors, windows, mirrors, basins, waiting seats, tables and labels. Rotate anything, undo anything.

  2. Place your chairs

Put each chair where it really stands. The drawing becomes your floor in the app, where you can see who is in which chair today.

  3. Invite your stylists

Send each stylist an invite into the app and their name goes on their chair. They get their own diary, booking page and chair booking, free.

  4. Set what each pays

Monthly rent for the stylists who are there every week, or a day rate for people who come in when they need to. From then on, invoices are made every month in your salon’s name.

  5. Rent collected

Each stylist sets up Direct Debit once, from their phone. Rent is collected around the end of the month and reaches your account a couple of working days later. Extra days are paid by card when they’re booked.

All the rent, on one screen.

Money shows what’s due, what’s been collected and what’s still outstanding, for every stylist, every month. When something needs you, the next step is right next to it.

Invoices that write themselves

Every month, in your salon’s name, with a PDF for each. The invoice goes out a few working days before collection, because Direct Debit rules need advance notice.

Extra days paid by card

When a stylist books an extra chair day during the month, they pay by card at the time of booking. No chasing at the end of the month.

Refunds when you need them

If you need to give money back, you do it from Money, and it shows there with everything else.

The rest of the job, handled.

Questions owners ask.

Something else on your mind? Write to hello@sameroof.uk and a person will reply.

What is chair rental, and are my stylists self-employed?

In a chair rental salon, each stylist runs a business of their own and pays the owner rent for a chair. The owner looks after the building and the rent. Same Roof is built for exactly that arrangement.

Same Roof doesn’t give legal or tax advice. Whether a stylist is self-employed depends on how the arrangement works day to day. HMRC’s employment status guidance is the place to start, and an accountant can help.

What happens if a Direct Debit fails?

The invoice shows unpaid again in Money, so you can see it straight away. Press Try again to collect it.

When is the rent taken?

Around the end of the month, on the collection day you choose in Settings. The invoice goes out a few working days before, because Direct Debit rules need advance notice, and the money reaches your account a couple of working days after collection. Weekends and UK bank holidays are handled.

Can stylists rent by the day or by the hour?

Yes. Set a day rate for people who come in when they need to. Stylists book a chair by the hour, morning, afternoon, evening or the whole day, and pay by card when they book. Regulars can repeat a booking every week or every two weeks, or keep a standing booking billed monthly by Direct Debit.

How chair booking works for stylists
Do stylists pay anything for Same Roof?

No. Stylists never pay Same Roof; they pay their rent to you. The salon pays £39 a month plus £9 per chair, and new salons get the first 30 days free. Prices exclude the fees GoCardless and Stripe charge for processing payments.

We have two sites. Can we run them together?

Yes. A salon with two sites can run them as one team. Same Roof started inside a salon in Soho that works exactly that way.

Put your salon on the plan.

We’re opening early access to UK salons with chair renters. Tell us your salon’s name, where you are and how many chairs you rent out, and we’ll set you up. New salons get the first 30 days free.
