Most salon software assumes the owner employs everyone.

Same Roof is for the salons where that isn’t true: where every stylist rents their chair and runs a business of their own.

Why I built it

Same Roof started inside a working salon in Soho, where the stylists rent their chairs.

A chair rental salon works differently. The owner looks after the building and the rent. Each stylist runs a business of their own, with their own clients, their own diary and their own way of working.

So I built one app for both, with the salon’s name on it. The owner sees the room and gets the rent by Direct Debit. The stylists book their chairs, keep their own diary and take their own clients, and those clients stay theirs.

The salon it started in has two sites, run as one team, so Same Roof does that too.

Two salon floor plans side by side, labelled site one and site two, joined by a dimension line marked one team. Site one Site two One team
Two sites, one team. A sketch, not to scale.

If you run a salon like that, I’d like to hear how you do it today.

Write to hello@sameroof.uk and a person will reply.
